Applications for re-registration in the CGA increased from 460 to 851 between July and August

The Minister of Labor stated this Friday in Parliament that between July and the end of August the number of cases before the courts involving workers complaining Re-registration at Caixa Geral de Aposentações increased from 460 to 851.

These data were mentioned by Rosário Palma Ramalho in the debate on the Government’s proposal that clarifies the right of public servants to rejoin Caixa Geral de Aposentações (CGA) and that was approved in general this Friday in parliament.

The Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security stressed the importance of a law that clarifies this re-entry into the CGA, highlighting the high flow of legal proceedings that are being initiated by workers who were linked to the public service before 1 January 2006 and who now want to return to this regime (which has been closed to new registrations since the end of 2005).
