Treasury warns of new fraudulent emails

The Tax and Customs Authority (AT) warns of the existence of fraudulent ’emails’ that are being sent to taxpayers with ‘connection links’, the aim of which is to obtain personal data

“The Tax and Customs Authority is aware that some taxpayers are receiving email messages supposedly from AT where you are asked to click on ‘links’ provided”The tax authority said in a notice published on Thursday on the Finance Portal, in which it warned taxpayers never to click on the “links” in question.

AT shares some of these fraudulent messages related to IRS returns, as well as tax debts.

As in previous alerts, AT stresses that these “messages are fake and should be ignored” and that “their goal is to convince the recipient to access malicious pages by clicking on the suggested links,” which should never be done.
