Railway circulation on the Cintura Line has been restricted since seven in the morning this Tuesday due to a signaling failure in the section between the Sete Rios and Entrecampos stations, in Lisbon, reported Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP).
In a note published on the social network Facebook, the IP states that maintenance teams are on site to carry out repairs in order to restore traffic conditions as soon as possible.
Also the Fertaguswhich operates train circulation on the 25 de Abril Bridge, which connects Lisbon with the South Bank, indicated on social networks that there was quite serious delays due to faulty signaling.
“The Cintura Line constitutes one of the main railway routes in the suburban area of Lisbon, (…) ensuring interconnection with all radial lines that end in the capital.namely, the North, Sintra, West, Cascais and South lines,” according to information on the IP website.
It also guarantees connections for long-distance passenger trains, through the 25 de Abril Bridge, as well as freight trains bound for the Port of Lisbon.
