Hollywood actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish endorsed Karen Bass for mayor of Los Angeles this weekend, citing Bass’ gender and skin color as two main reasons.

Both Bass and Caruso will face off in the Los Angeles mayoral primaries next Tuesday, and current polls suggest the election could enter the runoff in November. By Los Angeles times:
According to the results of the poll conducted on 24-31 May, Bass is supported by 38% of prospective voters. Caruso, who bombarded Los Angeles’ airwaves with millions of dollars in advertising, had 32 percent.
While 15% of prospective voters still say they’re undecided, either could still win the primary, but it’s unlikely that either candidate will get the 50% they need to avoid the November round.
While enthusiastically supported by distant celebrities like Karen Bass, Adam Conover, and Tiffany Haddish, Rick Caruso has had the backing of celebrities from some extraordinary people like rappers Snoop Dogg, Ariana Grande, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Elon Musk. “Alright, [former mayor] Dick Riordon is a foreigner and I think he is considered a very good mayor who has accomplished a lot,” Caruso told Breitbart News.
