Transgender Hollywood star Elliot Page, formerly known as Ellen Page, laments society’s obsession with the gender binary, claiming she is responsible for some of the backlash to a celebrity’s transition from woman to man.
Star Juno and Netflix Umbrella Academy Aired on NBC on Tuesday Late Night with Seth Meyers.
“I feel like it’s one of those things that’s so sad that we’re all on the same team here, you know? If you’re transgender, you don’t follow gender, or you’re cisgender,” she said. “We all have these expectations, and it’s kind of limitations and constraints, yes, because of people’s obsession with binary systems and how we should live.”

Page continued, “It’s particularly important that we be able to connect and talk about how much we have in common on all our travels. ”
Gender “binary” refers to the classification of people into two genders, male or female. Transgender ideology says there are more than two genders and can determine how people feel across the gender spectrum.
Paige says living with a man is encouraging.
“It’s really improved my life,” Page said, “and I hope, you know, I hope people who have a problem with me can try to hear it or accept it to some degree.”
