Disney channels Raven’s house -spin off its so predatory introduced her first trans character named Nikki, played by transgender actress Juliana Joel.
Raven’s houseShe introduced “Nikki” in an episode last week as part of the show’s fifth season, aimed at teenagers and young adults. “Nikki” is a social media phenomenon hired by Raven to promote her new design studio.
Joel confirmed the look in an Instagram post.
“The first trans character on Disney Channel? I can finally share that I’ve joined the cast of the fifth season of House of the Raven on Disney Channel! ” – written by the actor.
Joel described the episode as a “success” for transgender people.
“For trans people and all the rage in the media and social narratives, this is a victory. I search for dreams and spaces for myself as most of the world tries to erase me and my community. And now I’ve become the person I wanted to see on TV as a kid. So don’t tell yourself it can’t happen, because it can happen in ways you never thought possible. ”

This isn’t the first time Disney has featured a trans character in children’s entertainment.
