The Walt Disney Company has once again embraced the far left by reversing its decision to reject a Democrat ad about abortion and gun control intended to air on Hulu.
Disney said Hulu will now accept ads that “cover a wide range of political positions”, in a statement to various news outlets on Wednesday. At the center of the controversy are two promotions paid for by Democratic organizations that Hulu has rejected.
One of the ads, Roe v. Wade will attack Republicans and urge audiences to vote Democrats in the November midterm elections. The second ad promoted gun control and blamed GOP leaders for the shootings.
The American people deserve the truth about the Republicans’ dangerously unrealistic abortion agenda.
So why? @Hulu block our ads with @DemGovs Moreover @DSCC?pic.twitter.com/SA4GyiDBzD

RETWEET to help spread it everywhere: @Hulu We’re banning our ads that portray the fact that Republicans are more focused on the gun lobby than keeping Americans safe, so we need your help getting this message across to the people. pic.twitter.com/IQS8E6bYyV

The three groups that pay for the ad are the Democratic Senator Campaign Committee, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and the Democratic Governors Association.
Hulu refused to run both ads, citing its policy against showing ads that express “a position on a controversial issue of public interest (such as social issues)”.
Disney’s decision angered activists on the left and the mainstream media, especially those belonging to Jeff Bezos. Washington postThis featured an article urging the company to accept the ad. Mail The article quotes the leaders of the aforementioned democratic groups:
“Hulu’s censorship of truth is another step on a path that is outrageous, offensive, and dangerous for our country. Voters have a right to know the truth about the Republican MAGA agenda on matters like abortion, and Hulu is doing the American people a great disservice by preventing voters from knowing the truth about the reputation of the Republican party or refusing to discuss these issues. “
The print campaign worked. Disney released the following statement on Wednesday morning announcing that it has reversed its decision.
“Following a thorough review of advertising policies across linear networks and streaming platforms over the past few months, Disney has aligned Hulu’s advertising policies with the company’s general entertainment and sports cable networks and ESPN+. Candidates will now accept Hulu and run ads that cover a wide range of political positions, but retain the right to request industry-standard edits or creative alternatives.”
Disney had previously leaned to the left on the state’s parental rights issue in Florida’s education law, which outlawed the teaching of sexuality and gender identity, including transgenderism, to children in kindergarten through third grade.
CEO Bob Chapek initially refused to take a public stance on the Florida bill, but gave up after a small group of radical workers launched a campaign of internal pressure. He offered an embarrassing apology, “I changed you. I’m sorry.”
Since then, Disney has focused on repealing the law and has devoted herself to radical LGBTQ activism.
