‘Samaritan’ review: Stallone wasted on boring, predictable superhero bullshit

My husband and I do not subscribe to Amazon Prime for its streaming service. Sign up for free shipping. When it comes to entertainment, Amazon Prime stinks. It doesn’t actually smell. There are probably some good TV shows and movies somewhere in this pile. The Amazon Prime menu is so confusing and annoying to the user that I don’t know.

This week Amazon Prime recommended a movie that I think is worth watching: Samaritan, Sylvester Stallone plays an aging superhero once again in a superhero game.

I love the feeling that I can finally make money on Amazon. I love Stallone. I like the concept. this reminds me logan (2017) is older than anything in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. (Yeah, pedants, I know logan technically a Marvel product, but it was made by Fox, not Disney, so you know exactly what I mean, so live it.)

Alright, Samaritan Smelly Waste of time Stallone… and… well, it just stinks.

Mythology goes something like this, and a lot is revealed during the opening credits: Samaritan and Nemesis were once fraternal twins. They’re both human, but with incredible strength and clumsiness. After the residents of Granite City rise up and burn their homes and kill their parents, Samaritan continues to do good, but Nemesis turns evil and they die while Nemesis and Samaritan fight each other.

After the years. Granite City looks like a typical Democrat-run city. However, a 13-year-old boy named Sam (Javon Walton) believes the Samaritan is still alive. Why? Why? There is no reason other than plot that requires a 13-year-old to believe to move the plot.

And didn’t you know that the aging garbage man who lives in Sam’s apartment complex is a Samaritan?

And didn’t you know that this aging scavenger revealed his true self by rescuing Sam from a local gang?

Didn’t you know that Sam is in a relationship with a local gang leader who is eager to play the role of the new enemy?

Nothing works in this movie.

Nothing.

Do you think Sam was raised by an overworked, down-to-earth single mother trying her best? you would be right

single service Samaritan serves as another reminder that we should appreciate the last fighter (1993) and more.

Oh, and there’s a big twist in the opening credits at the end that I guessed.

One plus? Samaritan did not wake up. Agree, in our time this is a big plus. But I don’t want to judge such a movie.

Samaritan the dialogue is never believable, the relationships are incredible, the plot is full of holes and plot coincidences, it tries to be cute, there is no sense of danger in the exaggerated CGI and why villains will you keep shooting at the Samaritan knowing that he is invincible?

Star power means something to me. Star power is very forgiving. Charles Bronson has never been in a bad movie. Why? Why? Because Charles Bronson is involved, yes. And yes, with caboblanco (1980) and I have Blu-ray to prove it. Sylvester Stallone is a national treasure and is in exceptional physical shape for anyone of all ages, especially at the age of 74. Samaritan Filmed in 2020. He’s a star but that’s not enough.
