Blackface-wearing, spitting N-words, and approved ratings poison Jimmy Kimmel was accused of “white privilege” for a stunt he pulled at Monday night’s Emmy Awards.
After the 2020 Emmy ratings hit an all-time low (she did the same for the Oscars) (she did the same for the midnight show), Kimmel was no longer asked to host the show this year. But the stupid bum is ready for a parody that explodes in his face.
In the skit, Will Arnett drags Kimmel by his legs onto the Emmy stage. The joke is that Kimmel was too drunk to attend the Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series after missing a late night Emmy for the 13th time in a row. So, as Arnett explained the details, Kimmel stayed behind him, pretending to faint.
Far too good.
Not including.
After star and creator Quinta Brunson wins an Emmy Award for screenplay abbot primary school, Kimmel stayed where he was. He reached out throughout his speech and caught everyone’s attention.
you don’t. You represent. You go astray. The center of attention is no longer yours. Pass the spotlight to the winner. That’s what good people do. That’s what they always do. As the audience watched Brunson react to his win and take to the stage, Kimmel had plenty of time to collect himself behind the camera. Arnett can take him off the stage to complete the joke.
Now, since he’s a white man and Brunson a black woman, Jimmy Kimmel gets a sweet taste of the Awakened Horror he ignited and empowered.
New York Post:
Late night host Jimmy Kimmel was accused of “white privilege” after he downplayed Abbott Elementary star Quinta Brunson’s performance at the 2022 Emmy Awards with an absolutely disgusting skit. Images of the stunt went viral as award fans scolded the prankster for allegedly ruining his big moment.
…
Many accused the host of representing “white male privilege”. Written by a critic“If #QuintaBrunson literally stepped into #JimmyKimmel the day she won the Emmy, that’s not a metaphor for what it means to be a WOC in a white man’s world, I don’t know what it is.”
An enraged Twitter post echoed his sentiments, writing: “Jimmy Kimmel should apologize to Quinta, but what’s confusing is that every picture he accepts for the award has his ass. White people are truly intolerable.”
The event was also on the agenda on Twitter.
To his endless credit, Brunson exemplifies something so rare in today’s entertainment circles: grace, class, and a reluctance to be offended. When asked about Kimmel’s stunt, Brunson displayed poise and courtesy.
“I know Jimmy Kimmel. It didn’t bother me,” she said. Honestly, Jimmy gave me my first big night spot. He was one of the first to see “Ebbott Elementary.” He was the first to message me on Instagram.
“He’s very excited to be going to ABC,” he added. “I’m glad it’s Jimmy. He’s one of the godfathers of comedy.”
Think how much better our culture would be if more people were as generous and mature as Brunson. Kimmel might learn a thing or two from Brunson.
