A Porta Festival brings more than 30 artists to Leiria from June 12 to 19

The French Ryder the Eagle, the Portuguese-Belgian Blu Samu and the Portuguese Sean Riley and The Slowriders are among the more than 30 artists on the poster of the A Porta festival, which takes place in Leiria from June 12 to 19, the organization announced .

Between musicians and groups from Leiria or based in it and national guests and international projects, the festival’s program is broad and plural, offering the city “new albums by bands that mark the recent history of national music and discoveries from other places ”, pointed out those responsible. for A Porta in a statement.

In addition to Ryder the Eagle, “a Frenchman now living in Mexico” and who “is passionate about the guitar and the popular culture of the United States of America”, Leiria will listen to “the soul painted with traces of morna and fado” by by Blu Samu, and new albums by Sean Riley & The Slowriders and the Fugly.

The festival, which this year returns to the historic center of Leiria, had previously announced, in April, concerts by Salvador Sobral, Club Makumba and the queen of kuduro, Titica.

The list of names was expanded with the confirmations of the project that brings together Éme and Moxila, as well as Catarina Branco, Sreya, Melquíades, Bia Maria and Pedro Branco’s solo debut.

At a local level, A Porta will unveil the electronic music of SFISTIKATED, a new musical adventure with elements from First Breath After Coma (FBAC) and the Whales that will debut at the festival, as well as an original show signed by Nuno Rancho and Rui Gaspar, this one will also from FBAC, designed for “10”, an album that marks a decade of activity for the Omnichord Records label. Also performing at home will be the multi-instrumentalist and composer Natércia Lameiro, the ‘rappers’ Jaime Miguel and Lil Mami Barbz, All Them Lucky, the guitarist Moon Cowboy and mARCIANO.

The list of shows also includes Odete, Ruben David Marques, Daniel Bernardes, Muco, Meta_, Manel Ferreira, Travo, Silvino Branca Trio, the AdesbaAcapella chamber choir and the samba group Musas do Absurdo.

Created in 2014 to give life to forgotten, dormant or closed spaces in the city, the A Porta festival has also prepared parties with DJs for Leiria, a collective exhibition of plastic arts, a children’s program, initiatives for the occupation of public space and themed dinners in private homes
