Alice Vieira honored in Leiria with an exhibition on life and work

Alice Vieira will be honored on Wednesday by the Leiria City Council, with an exhibition on her life and work in the Sant’Ana Market gallery. The writer will be present at the opening of the Book Fair, which coincides with World Children’s Day.

The Councilor for Education, Anabela Graça, announced at the Plenary meeting this Tuesday that “a group of authors linked to children’s and young people’s reading will be present at the Leiria Book Fair, with a highlight for Wednesday, with a tribute Alice Vieira, who is very loved by the little ones”.

The Book Fair is associated with World Children’s Day, which this year will be celebrated by the municipality also between June 1 and 5, combining the event with that of European Capital of Sport, a title that Leiria holds this year.

“We bring together the various divisions of the sport in an inclusive activity. Children will have the opportunity to read, play and play. At least on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we will have registered about four thousand children from 46 public education establishments, in addition to those from private education”, said Anabela Graça.

The councilor added that the children’s party is associated with the Book Fair, because “it is important to promote books and reading, especially among the little ones, and the combination of games with reading and games was the objective this year ”.

During these days, children will be able to enjoy various recreational and sports activities, which “was only possible thanks to associativism, which will bring handball, tennis, dancing, bicycles, among others, to the city.”
