The researchers concluded that if a highly advanced civilization wanted to travel through space, sooner or later it would build a giant or fast ship. And such a ship would create space-time fluctuations. Gravitational wave detectors would theoretically be able to detect them. In addition, the plus of such detectors is that they simultaneously monitor the entire sky.
Scientists have calculated that the ground-based interferometers LIGO, VIRGO and KAGRA can detect alien ships within a radius of 326,156 light-years from Earth.
