The public art exhibition Poster returns on Saturday to the Marvila area in Lisbon

According to the organization, in the 8th edition “well-known creatives from fields as diverse as the actor Ivo Canelas, the humorist César Mourão, the communicator Inês Meneses, the photographer Matus Toth, the tattoo artist Douglas Cardoso or the [atelier de arquitetura] Spacegram study.

The guest list for this edition is completed by Ana Malta (visual artist), Ann Massal (photographer), Carlos Flor (architect), DJ Huba (visual artist), Filipe Cerqueira (plastic artist), João Amado (plastic artist), João Fernandes (artisan), Márcio Vilela (photographer), Paulo Arraiano (visual artist), Pedro Matos (plastic artist), Projeto Ruído (creative project), Rodrigo Silvestre (plastic artist) and Sean Riley (musician).

The posters created by the guests are joined by those of the winners of two ‘Open Call’ (competition open to the public), which will be exhibited at the Clube Oriental de Lisboa, in Largo do Poço do Bispo.

This year, “some 200 people, from different geographies and nationalities, with and without creative training, whose quality surprises in each edition, competed for the ‘Open Call'”.

In the ‘Open Call’ with a free theme, the following were selected: Catarina Oscarina, Giovana Medeiros, Gonçalo Pinheiro, João Matos, Marta Paiva, Micaela Ibarrola, Nanda Godim, Ricardo Cabral, Ricardo Ferreira and Ricardo Leandro.

In the ‘Open Call’ that invited “to delve into the rich iconographic heritage of the Sandeman brand”, the following were chosen: Alberto Faria, Ana Leonor Almeida, Enrique Acevedo, João Soares, Patrícia Torres, Paulo Netto, Rui Pinho.

The inauguration of the Poster Show on Saturday is scheduled for 4:00 p.m., with a guided tour that begins at Rua do Açúcar, next to Phosphoreira, and continues along Rua Capitão Leitão, Largo do Poço do Bispo and Rua Amorim.

The visit, which is guided by the project’s mentor, Bruno Pereira, and will include “the presence of some artists”, culminates at 5:30 pm with the inauguration of the ‘Open Call’ exhibition.

The Posters exhibition is a project of the Department, an entity that defines itself as “amplifier of culture, which curates and develops projects for brands, sponsors, patrons, public and private entities.”
