Kamaal Williams, who “brings the fusion of jazz, funk and other trends to the festival stage”, will perform on July 16, at the Parque Basílio Teles kiosk, which will be the stage for Matosinhos em Jazz every weekend July, according to the organization.
“The British musician and producer brings the albums ‘Wu Hen’ (2020) and ‘The Return’ (2018), as well as a unique performance that navigates between various influences of jazz and funk, connecting them live with hip-hop rhythms, R&B, afrobeat, dubstep and broken beat,” the statement said.
Within the framework of the festival, during the month of July, an exhibition will be exhibited in Parque Basílio Teles with the reinterpretation of “iconic covers of jazz records” by Portuguese artists, whose names “will be announced soon”.
Matosinhos em Jazz, an initiative of the Municipality of Matosinhos, has free admission and the shows always take place at 6:00 p.m.
In 2022, Alfa Mist, Ashley Henry and Rebecca Martin, among others, performed at the festival, which returned after two years of interregnum due to the covid-19 pandemic.
