Minister of Defense in Cape Verde on May 25 and 26 to meet with CPLP counterparts

The Minister of Defense will travel to Cape Verde on May 25 and 26 to meet with his counterparts from the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), several meetings being planned, in particular with the President of the Republic of that country.

According to a note sent to the press by the Ministry of National Defense, Helena Carreiras “participates in the XXI Meeting of Defense Ministers of the CPLP, which will take place in Cape Verde on May 25,” adding that as part of the trip to that country “Several meetings will be held with the Cape Verdean authorities”.

According to the public agenda released, this Wednesday (25), at 09:00 (local time) the meeting of defense ministers of the CPLP is planned, which will include statements to the press at the end.

On the same day, Helena Carreiras will have an audience with the President of the Republic of Cape Verde, José Maria Neves, and then another with the Prime Minister of that country, Ulisses Correia e Silva.

On the 26th, the Portuguese Defense Minister will meet with her Cape Verdean counterpart, Janine Tatiana Santos Lélis, and will visit the “Center for Maritime Operational Cooperation with Cape Verde,” the ministry reported.
