The widely held Democratic view that Georgia’s 2021 Fair Elections Act will lead to voter suppression appears to be falling after Tuesday’s primary elections.
In a phone interview with Breitbart News on Wednesday, state Brian Kemp (right) said Democratic gubernatorial candidates Stacey Abrams and President Joe Biden were “a bunch of hypocrites” to perpetuate the lie that the bill would stifle votes, especially among racial minorities.
“Last Election Integrity Act, [Abrams] he called it Jim Crow 2.0, he said it was huge, it started Joe Biden to say the same thing,” Kemp said. “Of course he didn’t get it then, and he doesn’t understand now that his own state of Delaware is stricter than our state and many other states nationwide, and there was such a huge, record turnout last time that we just finished the election.”
Kemp added, “I mean, they’re a bunch of hypocrites, and people know it, but the national media? It would be nice if they really chased him, but as you know, I doubt they will.
While the municipal elections in Georgia come after the state passed a sweeping electoral law that Kemp passed into law in March 2021, Tuesday’s primary elections painted the clearest picture of how the law affects state voting patterns.
Georgia’s 2018 primary participation, the last primary midterm, was even higher. According to unofficial results, approximately 1.2 million voters voted in the 2018 governorship primary elections, while 1.9 million voted in the 2022 governorship primary elections.
Between early personal voting and absentee voting, the total number of early voters in 2022 broke the number of primaries in 2020 and 2018. As of May 20, the State Department said about 857,000 voters had cast their votes, compared to 326,000 before the end. 299,000 before the end of early voting in 2020 and early voting in 2018.
On May 18, the office reported that 102,056 black voters voted earlier in 2022 compared to 2018. national review According to the analysis, the number of black voters who voted in early 2018 was three times higher than in 2018. The publication states that black voters also accounted for 2.75 percent more of the total electorate in Georgia than in 2020.
Georgia’s main election day “came with short lines and limited issues on Tuesday as voters were heard in one of the states with the most political resistance,” the report also said. Atlanta Magazine-Constitution reported.
When Kemp signed the bill, it came under unfounded attacks from Democrats such as governor Abrams, Biden, and the senator. Raphael Warnock (D-GA), as well as major state corporations like Major League Baseball and Coca-Cola, who have accused Kemp of enacting voting laws that are strict to the point of pressure.
As we continue to oppose this clearly unconstitutional effort, which is none other than Jim Crow 2.0, we need federal action more than ever to protect voting rights.

Among its many provisions, the bill restricts voter identification laws for absentee ballots and calls for the redistribution of ballot boxes based on voter registration data. Ballot boxes were not used in Georgia until 2020 and were set up to increase postal voting as the coronavirus escalated that year. The bill aims to allow them while continuing to improve security around boxes.
Many Democrats, led by Biden, criticized the bill’s restriction on polling, saying the bill had exhausted voters who had to wait in long queues. This is a flat lie because unattended water coolers are allowed at polling stations, and people are also allowed to bring their own water if they wish.
Kemp said the bill “adds weekend voting days here. I mean, just crazy.”
The governor continued: “I think this is what the public is fed up with. They are tired of politicians not telling them the truth. They were tired of playing Washington games with them. They want people to be loyal to them. And that’s Abrams’ problem. Does not interact with Georgians. He travels the country selling his book and flirts with big billionaires in California and New York and they all think he’s a celebrity and a rock star, which is great. But you know, I’ve talked to parents who want their kids to go to class. I spoke to hairdressers, beauticians, waiters, and restaurants, she said, “Thank you for making us live and live until the next day, and thanks to him, we’re amazing.” .’”
For others who oppose Abrams and Kemp’s election bill, after seeing an increase in voter turnout, they now face pressure to respond to their earlier objections.
Abrams’ campaign did not respond to a request for comment from Breitbart News on previous comments on the bill.
However, according to a clip from the Washington Free Beacon, Abrams was recently asked about them, and the Georgia Democrat responded by saying that pressure and turnout were “an unprovoked correlation.” Depends on whether you make it harder for him to get the ballot.”
Major League Baseball, another prominent critic of the law, remained silent on the issue after the organization boycotted the bill by moving the 2021 All-Star Game from Atlanta to Denver, according to a Fox News report.
Duration Washington Post Adopted last weekend with the headline “Voting in Georgia Grows Despite Controversial New Electoral Law,” its rise told “voting rights groups and Democrats” to “overcome alleged restrictions on the bill:
Voting groups and Democrats say they are changing their strategies to mobilize voters under the new rules. In Spalding County, for example, local activists took Souls to the polls on Saturday and publicly pledged to work twice as hard if necessary to protect voter access.
Kemp told the frame, “The thing is, they’re only going to be back nine ways by Sunday. The turnout is incredible, and I think it’s going to be the same in November.”
