Report: ‘Reality hits Democrats’ mid-term hopes after disappointing greater California’

After a disappointing primary performance in California, “reality intervened” in the moderate expectations of progressive Democrats, according to the report.

On Tuesday, progressive Democrats suffered multiple defeats in the dark blue state of California.

“The far left spoke of the big game at the beginning of this cycle, but reality got in the way. Democratic voters have repeatedly said they don’t like what the far left is selling,” says Matt Bennett, co-founder of the think tank Third Way.

San Francisco voters remembered Soros-backed District Attorney Cheza Boudin (D) in northern California, who got more than 60 percent of the yes vote. In Southern California, Los Angeles Republican mayoral candidate Rick Caruso pushed for re-election along with former Democratic Representative. Karen Bass (D-CA).

Bass received 37 percent of the vote, compared to Caruso’s 42.1 percent; that was less than the 50 percent needed to avoid the runoff. A common theme of Caruso’s candidacy and Boudin’s recall is crime spiraling out of control in both cities ruled by Democrats.

Democratic counselor Kevin Liao said the election was about “making sure people are safe in their daily lives.”

“This will only add impact to the general election,” said Liao. “Do major national democracies and groups support Bass? you understand [Sens.] Bernie [Sanders] and endorsements and visits from Elizabeth Warren?

Adding to the plight of the progressives, Texas election officials said Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) as a win over progressive rival Jessica Cisneros a few days before elementary in California. Rep. of Cisneros. He is expected to be the next member of the “Squad”. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, while Cuellar is generally considered one of the most conservative Democrats in the House of Representatives.

One Democratic strategist admitted that the party was engaged in an “uphill battle” ahead of the November midterm elections.

“Progressives have a hard time fighting in this political climate,” said longtime Democratic strategist Joel Payne. “There are many progressives in positions of influence and power at a time when the country is dissatisfied with its leadership,” he said.

“There is ongoing unrest in the country,” Payne continued. “Today’s man is dissatisfied with everything and everything. And they’ll get to the closest thing they can get. This is usually the person in charge. ”
