Representative Mentioned. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) cited former Attorney General Eric Holder on Thursday as an example of honesty at the committee’s fifth public hearing on Jan. 6, but signed a no-confidence motion against Holder in 2011 because of his bias.
Describing himself as a “slave” of President Barack Obama, Holder ran Operation Fast and the Furious, an unsuccessful plan to smuggle weapons into Mexican cartels and monitor their movements to prevent gun sales. The weapon was later used in several crimes, including the murder of US Border Patrol agent Brian Terry. Holder refused to cooperate with a congressional committee investigating Operation Fast and the Furious, causing him to be condemned by the House of Representatives.
The Justice Department, which is currently prosecuting two former Trump aides for refusing to cooperate with the committee on January 6, has refused to prosecute Holder. So Kinzinger and other Republicans signed a motion of no confidence in 2011.
The proposal specifically states:

On Thursday, Kinzinger showed a video clip of Holder during his 2009 confirmation hearing, citing Holder as an example of political freedom and telling Congress he would rather resign than do anything to compromise the Justice Department’s political independence. .
“I will be an independent attorney general,” he said. “I will be the people’s lawyer. But if an issue arises that I consider too serious to jeopardize my ability to serve as Attorney General, whom I describe as the People’s Advocate, I will resign without hesitation.”
The video clip also shows former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, famous for meeting former President Bill Clinton at an airport runway in Arizona, while Hillary Clinton is under investigation for mishandling sensitive emails.
After showing a video clip of Holder and other former Attorney Generals, Kinzinger said without paradox: “Everyone in this video, from Eric Holder to Jeff Sessions, spoke like a departmental representative. Justice was done before the president’s political interests undermined his actions and dictated how he would exercise his powers. takes pride in being able to enforce the law.”
Kinzinger was chosen as a conservative supporter after the 2010 Tea Party, before switching to the left to become President Donald Trump’s rival and cable news darling. He resigns after being ousted from the constituency by the Democrats.
