The new vice president of the PSD parliamentary group, Hugo Oliveira, has been in contact in recent days with several mayors of the district for which he was elected, Leiria, who have been affected by the fires. The also president of the same district of the PSD denounces situations of “distress” and criticizes the Government for having learned little from 2017.
The Social Democratic deputy mainly criticizes the lack of forestry reform and leaves accusations against FlorestGal, the public company created to manage the forest, but of which he says that “it does little beyond the protocols”. After the combat phase, the leader of the Social Democratic caucus guarantees that “the PSD will present proposals to correct the situations that are repeated year after year.”
