For the selection of the sites, the history of ignitions between 2016-2021, the causality of the ignitions registered in 2021, the continuous patches of combustible vegetation greater than 500 hectares and the danger of the patches and the Fire Meteorological Index will be taken into account. daily.
The same note indicates that “the request for the use of portable video surveillance cameras was the subject of opinions from the National Commission for Data Protection and the National Authority for Emergencies and Civil Protection, who declared they had no objection.”
With this video surveillance system, sound capture and recording will not be allowed. The use of video surveillance cameras must be subject to prior notice, specifying the area covered and its purpose, by the usual means of dissemination and the unmanned aerial means must be operated at an average altitude of 100 meters from the ground, as approved.
The Government has determined that the systems must cease the surveillance mission as soon as the response means are activated in case of fire detection and that it must be guaranteed that the capture of images safeguards the reservation of intimate and private life.
“A communication flow must be guaranteed with the District Relief Operations Commands in the area where the systems are used” and “all operations and anomalies detected must be recorded, which must be preserved for a minimum period of two years”, continues the Ministry. of Internal Administration.
