SIRESP will receive new investment to secure communications, announces Government

The Integrated System of Emergency and Security Networks of Portugal (SIRESP), the State medical emergency network, will have a new investment in redundant equipment, capable of ensuring a more “resistant and autonomous” system, by guaranteeing communications via satellite , in case of terrestrial circuits fail, the Government announced this Saturday, August 13.

According to the statement sent to the newsrooms by the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI), “The public tender to be launched has a base value of 4.2 million euros and is intended for the acquisition, installation, configuration and placement of aggregation services router (RAS) 612 equipment for the SIRESP network”. Provides a 24-month warranty and corresponding technical support service.

“This investment is one more step in the realization of the strategy of strengthening and autonomy of the national emergency and security network, as announced on the occasion of the launch of the international public tender for the SIRESP network,” he said, in a statement. sent to the newsrooms, the Ministry of Internal Governance (MAI). “Part of this equipment is already destined for the Azores and Madeira, as part of a broader investment to extend the SIRESP network to the autonomous communities and which is expected to be completed in 2023.”

On Friday, August 12, the Ministry of Internal Administration published the authorization from the Ministry of Internal Administration for the General Secretariat of Internal Administration to assume the budgetary burden of the investment.
