The PSD demanded explanations from the Government on Tuesday about the maintenance of the resigned president of the IEFP until a new appointment, considering that the suspicions about Adelaide Franco “imposed the immediate decision of his substitution”.
According to this Tuesday’s edition of Jornal de Negócios, Adelaide Franco will continue to lead the Institute for Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP) until there is a new appointment, according to a note from the Secretary of State for Labor, Miguel Fontes, to the social partners that make up the Institute’s Board of Directors.

In a statement, the PSD asks the Government for explanations about the maintenance of the president of the IEFP, who resigned last Thursday, after suspicions of improper perception of the unemployment benefit.
Although the Government affirms that a contest is underway, in the final phase, for the position, the suspicion that exists about the resigning president, and that motivated her resignation, imposed the immediate decision of her replacement, ”defends the party led by Luis Montenegrin.

The PSD affirms that “with this behavior the government is undermining citizens’ trust in institutions and their functioningand therefore requires him to “go to the public to explain the reason for this decision.”

In this question addressed to the Minister of Labor, Solidarity and Social Welfare, Ana Mendes Godinho, the PSD argues that the IEFP “must register an irreproachable ethical elevation and strict compliance with current legal provisions”, taking into account the “high and community ” that moves and its “enormous relevance in the national labor market”.
