The Everglades Trust, a nonprofit made up of citizens and businesses “committed to protecting the Everglades”, Gov. Ron DeSantis (right) in the governor’s match against Rep. Charlie Crist (D-FL) on Tuesday.
The organization made the official announcement at a press conference with the governor in Fort Myers.

“When the company wanted to buy oil in the Everglades, Governor DeSantis said no and removed that threat,” he continued, adding that DeSantis has provided historic funding to restore the Everglades.
“It has set an ambitious goal of raising $2.5 billion for initiatives to restore the Everglades and improve water quality in the state of Florida. Not only has it met that goal, it has exceeded almost a billion dollars,” he said.

“Ron DeSantis is not like other politicians. Politicians always make promises. “What made Ron DeSantis different was keeping his promises and keeping them for the Everglades,” he added.
The Everglades Trust also posted a statement on Facebook early Wednesday morning confirming the “passionate” governor.
“His first term as governor has been marked by significant achievements in restoring America’s Everglades, with the ambitious goal of raising $2.5 billion in funding for Everglades restoration and water quality improvement initiatives,” they wrote.
“Not only did it meet that goal, it exceeded it — it worked with the Florida Legislature to provide $3.3 billion to protect the Everglades and our water supply,” the group said:
“I said we need to do more because obviously that requires infrastructure,” DeSantis said at a press conference. said.
“Basically, you take a state and make sure you have proper plumbing because we have what God made, and then man changes it and creates some problems.”
“So we’re just trying to get back to God’s design — that’s really all we do,” DeSantis said of his administration’s efforts in the Everglades.
