Deputy Feared section of health issues in Parliament, close to Sales and with warm hugs from former colleagues

“So, Marta?”, said the former Minister of Public Administrations, Alexandra Leitão, as if welcoming Marta Temido, former Minister of Health, when she entered the room where the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, Rights, Freedoms and Guarantees was being held. A few months ago both were sitting at the table of the Council of Ministers, now they share the same commission. The feared deputy already has”folders” awarded at the beginning of the post-vacation Parliament that marks the debut as an elected deputy for the PS.

In addition to being part of the Commission of Constitutional MattersRights, Liberties and Guarantees —symbolically the 1st commission of the Assembly of the Republic— Marta Temido will also have a seat in the Transparency Commission and the Statute of Deputies, chaired by Alexandra Leitão. With an effective place in these two commissions, Marta Temido is far health issues, although this commission deals with the dossier on the decriminalization of euthanasia. The former minister is not part, however, of the specific working group on the subject.

On Wednesday, Marta Temido attended practically the entire meeting of the Constitutional Rights Commission together with the deputy Joana Sá Pereira, but the biggest hug received was from his former government colleague, Ana Catarina Mendes, who was heard in this parliamentary commission. In the final phase of the hearing, the Deputy Minister of Parliamentary Affairs got up from her seat and went to hug Marta Temido, seeking to know how the former minister is adapting to the position of deputy.

The previous week, Marta Temido had already sat down in the meeting room to attend the plenary sessions and participate in the voting. The mourning for the death of Queen Elizabeth II It is even registered as the first vote of the deputy Marta Temido at the beginning of this legislature.
