The Algerian Football Federation has released an official statement on the details of the appeal filed with the international federation after the end of the match between Algeria and Cameroon in the second leg of the 2022 World Cup qualifying round after the Desert Warriors failed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The protest is official and calls for a rematch between Algeria and Cameroon due to serious mistakes made by Gambian match referee Bakary Gassama.

The Algerian Federation said in a statement: “In order to enlighten sports opinion in general and national team fans in particular and put an end to speculation, some of which went beyond sporting and organizational boundaries, regarding the appeal related to arbitration in connection with the match between Algeria and Cameroon, which took place On March 29, the Algerian Federation would like to make the following clarifications.”

He continued: “The day after the match, the Algerian Federation filed a complaint with the FIFA General Secretariat about the arbitration of this match, accompanied by a letter with reference number (No. 442 / SG /. FAF / 2022). )”.

He added: “Following this request, FIFA notified the Algerian Federation by email dated Tuesday 5 April 2022 with a number (N ° FDD-10810) indicating that the complaint filed by the Algerian Federation was submitted to the Disciplinary Committee, which was dated its consideration was scheduled for 21 April 2022 and FIFA did not mean through this correspondence that it would make a decision on that date and this is contrary to what was reported by some media outlets.

After that, the Algerian Federation contacted FIFA again by email (No. 452/SG/FAF/2022) to provide an expert opinion from a specialized agency known for its cooperation with the same body and the European Football Association. , which describes the arbitrage in this match, suspicious arbitrage based on three criteria: normal arbitrage, suspect arbitrage and abnormal arbitrage.
