Thirteen countries, including Lebanon, will take part in the Asian Under-16 Basketball Championship, which will be held in Doha, Qatar, from 12 to 19 June.

The Continental Tournament qualifies for the World Cup Final to be held in Malaga (Spain) from 2 to 10 July as the four teams that qualified for the semi-finals of the Asian Championship will enter the World Cup to join the qualified teams from the rest of the world’s continents.

The 13 countries were divided into four groups as follows:

– Group 1: Australia, Bahrain, India and Qatar.

The second group: Iran, Lebanon and Indonesia.

Third group: Philippines, Japan and Kuwait.

Group D: South Korea, New Zealand and Kazakhstan.

Previously, Lebanon qualified for the Continental Championship after finishing second in the West Asian Championship held in the Jordanian capital Amman about two weeks ago.

It is noteworthy that the Lebanese men’s team will take part in the Asian Cup, which will be held in Indonesia from July 12 to 24, and tied in Group D along with New Zealand, the Philippines and India.

The Lebanese national team will also play third window matches in the World Cup qualifiers, as they will play against Jordan on July 1 at the Nohad Nawfal (Zuk Mikael) complex, and on July 4 they will play against Saudi Arabia.
