Bahrain coach Ali Ashour said his team still had a chance to make further progress after beating Dhofar of Oman 3-2 in the second round of the 2022 AFC Cup Group B competition.

Ashour confirmed that their start was perfect as they scored the first two goals but got a goal that affected the morale of the players and this showed in the second half when their opponent equalized.

Ashour noted that the changes he made after Dhofar scored the second goal helped them a lot, and the Al Shabab players involved in the match contributed to a good comeback.

He added that for the second match in a row they failed to maintain leadership, which indicates the strength of competition between the teams in the continental championship.

At the end of his speech, Coach Riff confirmed that they are getting a lot of experience by participating in this tournament and they learned that he likes not to lose hope and keep fighting until the end.
