Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr collaborated with Brady’s campaign and used the treacherous attack in Uvalde, Texas to raise money for political ends.
Kerr and the Brady Campaign are “working together to raise money to be used against NRA-backed politicians,” Outkick said on Thursday.
The fundraising video was posted on the Brady Campaign website:
The video looks a little dated, but it has been modernized with the text the Brady Campaign has posted on its website below.
This text says:
Our country survived the elementary school massacre in Texas. But we do know one thing: we cannot allow the tragedy of Uvalda, Texas to happen again. Brady has set an ambitious $50,000 emergency response goal so we can work right away, and calls for key laws like the Assault Weapons Prohibition and improved background checks.
There was a federal ban on “assault weapons” in the United States from 1994 to 2004. Breitbart News noted that the Department of Justice’s National Institute of Justice has published a study showing that the crime prevention effect is marginal at best.
Washington Times University of Pennsylvania professor Christopher Koper, author of the NIJ report, said: “We cannot attribute the ban to any of the nation’s recent reductions in gun violence. In fact, there has been no significant decrease in the lethality and violence of gun violence,” he said.
Also, since 1998 the United States has mandated background checks for every retail gun sale. This means that every firearm purchase from a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder requires a background check.
Los Angeles times Legal commentator Harry Litman noted that the attacker was in Uvalda. bought rifles “from the FFL on his last 18th birthday.”
