Wolverhampton striker Hwang Hee-chan will miss two friendlies for South Korea in June so he can take part in military training, according to press reports.

The 26-year-old striker will be ready to face Brazil in Seoul on Thursday June 2 and Chile on June 6.

However, he will then miss South Korea’s last two friendly matches against Paraguay on June 10 and Egypt on June 14 to undergo basic training with the army.

All South Korean men between the ages of 18 and 28 must complete at least 18 months of military service or face jail time.

Luckily for the Wolves, Huang received an exemption from his mandatory military service by winning the 2018 Asian Games gold medal. However, he still has four weeks of basic training to go through this summer before joining England for pre-season.
