French authorities mobilized around 7,000 police officers to monitor fans during the Champions League final match between Liverpool and Real Madrid on Saturday at the Stade de France in the Parisian suburb of Saint-Denis, where the number of fans who do not have tickets will reach Liverpool. up to 40 thousand people.

The match between Liverpool and Real Madrid was originally planned in St. Petersburg, but the European Union decided to move it to the French capital because of Russia’s war with Ukraine.

Only 20,000 fans from Liverpool and Real Madrid received tickets to the final stadium. On the contrary, the city of Paris has prepared a wide fan zone for 45,000 Liverpool fans along the Cours de Vincennes, the main avenue in the east of Paris, 10 kilometers from the final stadium.

“The goal is to make sure things are going as well as possible,” said Paris Deputy Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire.

The second fan zone is located in the northern suburb of Saint-Denis, where the Stade de France stadium is located, for Real Madrid fans who have bought tickets before the match. This fan zone will open to local fans once the Real Madrid fans move into the stadium. Alcoholic drinks will not be allowed in the area around the Stade de France, but fans will be allowed to drink during the match in the stadium itself.

The Champs Elysées, Paris’s most popular tourist attraction, will be closed to English and Spanish fans on the afternoon of match day, and alcohol will be banned this weekend at any of the city’s main airports, Charles de Gaulle and Orly.

Real Madrid are looking to improve their record in the competition (13 titles) and Liverpool are looking to win their seventh title.
