The preparation of the Judo Federation of Lebanon and its branches for the Asian and Oceania Sambo and Contact Sambo Championships, which will be held on June 2, 3 and 4, 2022 at the Fuad Chehab complex in Jounieh under the auspices of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. George Callas, continues.

Tournament Director François Saade Junior said: “The preparations for the main continental event are nearing completion, and the arrival of the delegations of the participating countries, as well as judges, observers, administrators and journalists, headed by the President of the Asian Sambo Federation Algon Molaev, has completed.” The tournament will take place on Wednesday, June 1, at 15:00 at the Madison Hotel (Junieh).

Regarding the Lebanese team that will take part in the tournament, Saade replied: “The team has been training intensively for some time under the guidance of the team coaches at the Boda Club (ADMA), and the number of Lebanese players exceeds fifty. We hope that Lebanon will win colorful medals in the big continental competition.” Especially in order to attend the tournament and keep up with the Lebanese national team, adding that the entrance to the stadium is free. His Excellency also encouraged the press and media to keep up with the tournament. and the opening ceremony, thanking them for their efforts. He stated that the opening ceremony of the tournament will take place from 5:30 pm on Thursday, June 2, in the presence of the sponsor of the tournament, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. George Callas, official, military, city and sports events, representatives of the press and media, sports fans. He noted that a round carpet (number 3) will be installed at the stadium where the matches will be held.

He added: “The Asian Sambo Championship for all age groups, among adults and juniors, among men and women, is being held for the first time in Lebanon with the participation of more than 500 male and female players from 21 countries. Participating countries: Lebanon, Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan and Malaysia, Mongolia, Palestine, Pakistan, Philippines, Ngafora, Syria, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Yemen, Australia and New Zealand. .

He pointed out that the AFC Board of Directors and the AFC General Assembly will be held on Wednesday, June 1, at the Madison Hotel, and there are many topics related to the game of SAMBO on their agenda.
