Barcelona are working to bolster their ranks with more than one deal during the current summer Mercato, but the Catalan club’s management is hard at work on its way out of the economic crisis to meet the demands of manager Javi Hernandez.

Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly, 30, a much-needed Camp Nou player, has agreed to play for Barcelona, according to Italian website Calciomercato.

Koulibaly’s contract with Napoli expires at the end of next season, but his club is making serious attempts to renew it, with Juventus looking to include him to make up for the departure of their captain, Giorgio Chiellini.

The site added that Coulibaly had turned down his club’s offer and held a meeting with Aurelio De Laurentiis, president of Naples, and asked him to agree to his departure.

He indicated that Koulibaly’s goal is to move to Barcelona and start the preparatory season under Xavi Hernandez.

Now the ball is in Barcelona’s side, which will have to solve their economic problems in order to submit an official offer from Napoli to start negotiations for Koulibaly’s transfer to the Camp Nou.
