The Premier League has announced that it will introduce new security measures before the start of the new season to combat “social misconduct” during matches.

The 20 clubs have agreed that the fighting teams will provide additional observers for their off-ground matches after the phenomenon of fans falling on the field became prevalent in some English leagues.

The decision came after attacking Aston Villa goalkeeper Robin Olsen as Manchester City fans celebrated their last-round championship victory after hundreds stormed the pitch.

In a similar incident, an Everton fan tried to hit Crystal Palace coach Frenchman Patrick Vieira, who responded directly after fans went to the field after an important win that ensured Everton’s stay in the Premier League .

The English Premier League has said it also hopes to resolve the fireworks problem that disrupted some matches last season.
