Red Bull Max Verstappen won the Canadian Grand Prix after fierce competition with Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz in second place ahead of Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton and George Russell in third and fourth place.
Verstappen managed to maintain the lead over Alonso and Sainz at the start before Sainz snatched the position ahead of the pair, while Leclerc managed to gradually move forward and in turn Verstappen overtook rival Alonso, who also dropped to fourth after as he was overtaken by world champion Lewis Hamilton aboard a Mercedes car, Tsunoda’s car crashed and the safety car intervened, igniting competition between Verstappen and Sainz, where the difference between the two allowed the latter to use DRS while Alonso continued his decline to sixth place behind Ferrari driver Leclerc and George Russell, with the latter in turn also advancing to fifth place behind the Mercedes duo, and despite chasing Verstappen, Sainz did not find a suitable plan to close the gap, so the Red Bell driver genius kept lead after Sainz failed to find a real opportunity to overtake him for the remainder of the race.
