Wydad Gharbi coach Walid Regragui expressed his joy at making history for the club, praising the team’s supporters who “have never seen anyone like him and will not see anyone like him in their entire lives”.
Wydad won the 22nd title in his history after drawing with Muludia Oujda in the 29th round of the competition, extending his tally to 63 points, 4 points ahead of runner-up Raja before the final round.
Rekraki noted that when he was given the task of coaching the team, he saw that it was more difficult to win the league title than the African title, especially since the team achieved this last season.
He added that this season they worked hand in hand to achieve this result and that this was facilitated by the audience that follows them wherever they are and supports them even if they are late with the result, and that he will not forget them, and he will not forget this group of players who fought him until the last minute.
Regarding the match between Mouludia and Jeddah, coach Wydad confirmed that it was difficult and that their opponent deserved to win for what he presented to them.
Regraki thanked Raja Sports, stressing that the competition between the two clubs has made Wydad always maintain its high level.
At the end of his speech, coach Wydad admitted that this season luck was on their side, especially that they scored five or six goals in the last minutes, and the result was decided in their favor.
