NFL offensive veteran Dwayne Brown was arrested Saturday afternoon at the Los Angeles airport while trying to board a plane with a gun in his trunk.
According to TMZ Sports, the incident occurred at around 14:00 local time.
Brown, who last played for the Seahawks in Houston after a 10-year hiatus with the Texans, is currently a free agent after his contract with the Seattles expired.
The case against Brown was the possession of a concealed firearm.
The long-time NFL veteran has been the focus of protests against the song that swept the league in 2017. While in Houston, Brown knelt at the start of the anthem. He also raised his fist during the starter and did not start at least once.
Brown was selected to the Pro Bowl five times. He also had a first-team All-Pro selection and was named a second-team All-Pro twice.
