Paul later tweeted about the incident:
Disclosure: At the Wimbledon final, I was holding a banner that read “Where is Peng Shuai”. “Where is Peng Shuai, the Chinese tennis star persecuted by the Chinese government, why is Wimbledon saying nothing?” I shouted. Security pushed me into one of the benches and we all hung out on him.

Peng Shuai disappeared for at least three months in 2021 after former Chinese Vice President Zhang Gaoli was accused of forcing him to have sex on social media.
Her disappearance soon made headlines, causing the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) to suspend all activities in China until evidence is provided that the tennis star is safe. However, under increasing international pressure, the Chinese government allowed Peng to appear in a staged interview, in which he presented his allegations against Zhang as a “misunderstanding”.
Paul continued on Twitter: “…one of the guards fell, a man in a blue Hawaiian shirt asked me to come back and hurt me, he pushed me down the stairs with all his might and I fell first.
“Then he grabbed me, leaned against the wall, and wrapped my arms around my back.”
An Australian activist said she felt she was being treated like a Wimbledon security terrorist.
“When you hit me against the wall, ‘The police are going to arrest you now. As I was kicked out of the stadium, the security forces treated me like a terrorist, wrapped my hands around my back in pain and said they sympathized with my target,” he said.
“I tried to wait for a break between matches while the players were drinking. But while the aim was in the game, the guards attacked me.
“I didn’t want to spoil the fight, I just held the sign and the guards started attacking me and at that moment I shouted ‘Where is Peng Shuai’ because I wanted to send a message, sorry Nick. Kirghiz. I love you man, I hope you win the war,” said the activist.
Pavlou wasn’t the only one protesting at Wimbledon this week and trying to pay attention to Peng Shuai’s plight. Earlier this week, security warned the group known as Free Tibet not to talk to fans about Peng Shuai.
