The Lebanese team rallied to a thrilling and well-deserved 14-point win over their New Zealand counterpart 86-72 after an incredible performance in the second round of the Group D competition at the Estor Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. During the Asian Basketball Cup, which was held in Indonesia, the Kedr players came close to the top of the group and firmly secured their place in the quarterfinals before the next meeting with India.

After the match, coach Gad El-Haj said: “Our players managed to finish the game very well, focusing on high, especially since you see us playing against a great team, they put pressure on us, but we managed to control and lost only three attempts which is amazing.”

For his part, New Zealand manager Cameron of Peru said: “It was a difficult match, we need to get better and we expect it to be.”
