The Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogacar (United Arab Emirates) will miss the Tour of Spain, reveals the calendar published by the team this Tuesday, to focus on the Road World Championships, in September, and the one-day classics.
‘Pogi’, recent runner-up in the Tour de France, who won in 2020 and 2021, misses the UAE team in the Vuelta, for which another of the team’s highlights, the Portuguese João Almeida, is scheduled to participate.

Without the two-time Tour champion, the Portuguese could have more responsibilities in the careerwhich starts on August 19, after having abandoned the Tour of Italy due to a positive test for Covid-19.
As for Pogacar, 23 years old, the program goes through the Wollongong World Championships, between September 18 and 25, and before that the San Sebastián Classic, already on Saturday, the Québec GP (September 9) or the Volta to Lombardia, the last monument of the season, on October 8.
