The goalkeeper, who helped his country win the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympics, as well as the 2015 World Cup, admitted the charges against him and said he was recovering from alcoholism treatment.
Solo was pulled over after police found her unconscious while driving in a North Carolina parking lot with her two-year-old twins in the car.
Tests showed the blood alcohol concentration was three times the legal limit, and the sample contained traces of THC, the most prominent molecule of the cannabis plant.
Misdemeanor, child abuse and resisting police charges were dropped.
This is not Solo’s first offense, as he was arrested in 2014 at his home in Washington state for assaulting his half-sister and 17-year-old nephew during a family gathering. Solo then claimed he acted in self-defense, and the case was eventually dismissed.
