Costa is Al Ittihad’s fourth signing in the summer transfer market after Ohud and Al Masri’s Zakaria Hawsawi, Zamalek’s midfielder Tariq Hamed and the youth team’s Ahmed Sharahili.

Costa completed a contract with eight professionals for the sporting season along with the Egyptians Tarik Hamed and Ahmed Hegazy and the Brazilians Marcelo Groe, Igor Coronado, Bruno Enrique, Romarinho and the Moroccan Abdel Razzak Hamdallah.

The 28-year-old Costa has gone through several professional experiences, most notably with Portuguese club Benfica, where he scored 8 goals and provided 11 assists.
