The Lebanese Tennis Federation has completed an international tournament for juniors and girls (under 18), which it organized at the stadiums of the Lebanese Automobile Tourist Club in Kaslik under the supervision of the International Game Federation, with the participation of more than one hundred male and female players of different nationalities. On the closing day attended by President of the host club, lawyer Eli Assaf and board members Naseeb Haddad (sports committee coordinator), Imad Lahoud (motorsport committee coordinator), Corinne Stephan, Daniel Haddad, Secretary General of the Lebanese Tennis Federation, Tournament Director Raymond Kattura, Federation Treasurer Desire Khalifa , federation member Lynn Bashur and a crowd of tennis fans.
Here are the results of the final matches:
Men’s singles final: Egyptian Ahmed Moncef defeated Greek Kalanov Iraklis (6-4), (1-6), (7-6).
– Men’s doubles final: Egyptians Ahmed Moncef and Youssef El Shafei beat Moroccan Ibrahim Ben Yahya and Russian Makari Overchenko (6-7), 6-0, 10-5.
– Women’s singles final: Turkish Erim Kurt defeated Lebanese Lila Bashur (6-4), 6-3.
– Women’s Doubles Final: Australians René Alami and Rihanna Alami beat Turks Faiza Abrar Edem and Erim Kurt (6-2), 6-4.
Matches were judged by Chris and Alex Kattura.
In conclusion, the ceremony of awarding cups and prizes to the winners took place. Kattura made a speech on behalf of the Tennis Federation, in which he thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the tournament, including the federation, the host club, referees, course staff, representatives of the press and the media.
Asaf and Haddad received a commemorative shield from Kattura as a token of love and gratitude.
The tournament is known to be part of the tournaments in which players earn points which are added to their balance in the International Federation classification list for the under 18 category.
It is noteworthy that in 2022, under the auspices of the International Federation, there will be five courses for juniors, namely: two sessions at the stadiums of the University of Notre Dame, one at the stadiums of the Lebanese Automobile and Tourist Club and two sessions at the stadiums of the Damour Country Club.
