England manager Gareth Southgate has reportedly sent a message to Manchester United defender Harry Maguire after he was excluded from Manchester United’s last three Premier League matches, according to British newspapers.

Maguire did not participate under Dutch manager Erik ten Hag after the team were defeated 4–0 by Brentford.

According to British newspaper The Sun, Southgate told the English star he was still a big part of his plans ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The source added that Southgate called Maguire and assured him that he would be part of a team of three lions competing in the World Cup.

He continued: “It’s natural that he wants to play and worries that lack of time might affect his place in the national team.”

He concluded: “Southgate’s message can give Maguire hope that he will continue to push hard to give his best in the upcoming matches for the Red Devils.
