Just one day after the dismissal of Thomas Tuchel was announced, Chelsea have confirmed that Graham Potter will be the new manager. The 47-year-old Englishman, who was in Brighton, succeeds the German in charge of the bluesthat he will have paid something like 18 million euros for the coach.

Graham Potter signed for five seasons and will assume command of the team immediately, already being on the substitutes’ bench next Saturday, during Marco Silva’s visit to Fulham. “I am incredibly proud and excited to represent Chelsea, this fantastic football club. I am very excited to form this partnership with Chelsea’s new ownership group and I am I look forward to meeting and working with this exciting group of players to develop a team and culture that our amazing fans can be proud of.” said the coach in the same statement, where he also thanked Brighton’s structure.
Solihull-born Graham Potter was a player in the 1990s and early 21st century, having primarily played for Birmingham, Stoke City, Southampton and West Bromwich Albion, as well as being an under-21 international. He began his coaching career in 2011, at Östersund in Sweden, where he was national champion and won a Cup, departing in 2018 for Swansea. He moved to Brighton in May 2019, following the sacking of Chris Hughton, where he is having a great start to the season, coming fourth in the Premier League with wins against Manchester United and Brighton.
