German referee Felix Zwayer will lead Benfica’s visit to Juventus on Wednesday, in the second round of Group H of the Football Champions League, according to the official UEFA website.
The German referee will be assisted by his compatriots Stefan Lupp and Marco Achmüller in Turin, with Bastian Dankert also responsible for the video arbitration system (VAR), in the match scheduled for 8:00 p.m. (Lisbon).
Zwayer had already refereed the Reds’ visit to Dynamo kyiv, on August 17, in the first leg of the play-off for access to the Champions League group stage, which Benfica won 2-0, in Lodz.
In the 2017/18 season, the same referee guided the reception of the eagles to Manchester United, who won 1-0, already in the regular phase of the Champions League.
Benfica is at the top of group H, with the same three points as French champions Paris Saint-Germain, while Juventus and Israel’s Maccabi Haifa, beaten 2-0 on their visit to Estádio da Luz, have not yet add points.
