Paris Saint-Germain head coach Christophe Galtier commented on striker Kylian Mbappé’s words during the international break.

“I’m more liberal with the national team than Paris Saint-Germain,” Mbappé said after a 2-0 victory over Austria in the European Nations League.

For his part, Galtier responded: “Yes, Mbappe’s analysis is correct. I had discussions with him before the start of the preparatory period and also spoke with the president of the club and the sporting director.”

He added: “It’s not about Mbappe’s freedom on the pitch, but there’s a type of player in the French team that gives him room to move and start, like Benzema, Giroud and Griezmann, and PSG doesn’t include players of the same type.”

He continued: “This summer, I already asked for a striker with special and other characteristics, but, unfortunately, this did not happen.”

In another context, Galtier indicated that Mbappe and Messi will organize tomorrow’s team training, stressing that he would prefer to give the duo a break from today’s training to avoid physical stress.
