Manchester City head coach Josep Guardiola has warned his Manchester United colleague Eric Ten Hag of an upcoming derby between the two teams in the English Premier League.

Guardiola believes success is the secret to the possibility of Ten Hag staying at Old Trafford, otherwise the Red Devils will have a different opinion.

“If he trusted United and let him build a team by giving him all the years and years, he would have been a welcome guest, I can’t say more,” Guardiola told The Sun.

“But he knows, everyone knows that we are dependent on results, I’m still here at City because we’ve won in the past, otherwise I wouldn’t be here.”

“Eric knows that if you can’t win with the big clubs, you’re in trouble.”

Ten Hag lost his first two matches in his position, as it was reported that he would not last long at Old Trafford, but he quickly responded to skeptics and achieved four victories in a row, including over Liverpool and Arsenal.

On this occasion, Pep said: “The beginning was difficult, but they came back and put incredible energy into their matches and achieved results. This is the best way to get results.”

He concluded: “The club has to trust what they are doing and give them time. If you change coaches and players frequently, it will be more difficult.”
