The Olympic Council of Asia has announced that Saudi Arabia has won the bid to host the 9th Asian Winter Games 2029 in Trogin, NEOM city, during the 41st General Assembly.

Thus, Saudi Arabia becomes the first country in Western Asia to host the Asian Winter Games.

The Olympic and Paralympic Committee commented on the news, stating on their Twitter account: “The historic Olympic Council of Asia announces the victory of the Trogin 2029 file to host the 9th Asian Winter Games during the 41st General Assembly. Welcome to Saudi winter. By granting Trogina the right to host the 2029 Asian Winter Games, the Kingdom becomes the first country in Western Asia to host this session.”

Saudi Sports Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal stressed during the launch of the Trogina 2029 document that the Kingdom’s commitment to hosting Winter Games that meet and exceed the highest technical standards creates a unique, innovative and sustainable future experience for both athletes and and for the fans. .
