Engineer Nazmi Al-Nasr, CEO of NEOM, said Trogina has what it takes to successfully host the Asian Winter Games in 2029.

He noted that he will have the appropriate infrastructure to create a winter atmosphere in the heart of the Saudi desert and make these Winter Games an unparalleled global event.

Speaking at the Asian Olympic Council General Assembly ahead of the vote, he added that Trogina, a global mountain destination, will build a snow complex designed for sports including giant alpine skiing, slalom and skateboarding, as well as an ice sports complex. including ice hockey, ice dancing and curling, and will host 47 events, 28 on snow and 19 on ice.

Trogina will include one Asian Games Village and 14 luxury hotels surrounding sports venues, and the games and venues will be powered by 100% renewable energy.

Trogina is characterized by varying temperatures throughout the year, with temperatures falling below zero degrees Celsius in winter, while temperatures are mild and 10 degrees cooler than the rest of the region.

Trogina is building the planned NEOM project, which will cost around $500 million.

Trogina is scheduled to offer skiing, a huge artificial freshwater lake, a nature reserve and mountain biking by 2026.

This will be the first time that a Western Asian country will host the Asian Winter Games.
