Polish President Andrzej Duda said that “the deployment of US nuclear weapons in Poland is an open topic”, citing the lack of nuclear weapons in his country as a problem.

In a TV interview, he stressed: “The problem, first of all, is that we do not have nuclear weapons. Nothing indicates that we may have it in the near future.” At the same time, it is believed that Poland may participate in the nuclear exchange program. Under this program, European NATO countries are hosting and stockpiling US nuclear weapons.

Duda noted: “There is always the opportunity to participate in a nuclear battle. We spoke with US leaders about whether the United States is considering this possibility. The question is open.” Earlier, the head of Poland’s ruling Law and Justice party, Yaroslav Kaczynski, said he would like American nuclear weapons to be deployed in his country. However, according to Kaczynski, no positive response was received from the US.
